NEWS RELEASE
DUMONT NICKEL INC. - June 11, 2009
DUMONT STARTS METALS RECOVERY TESTWORK AND FILES INDEPENDENT CORROBORATION FOR ITS NI-43-101 TECHNICAL REPORT, ALBERTA POLYMETALLIC BLACK SHALE PROPERTIES
DUMONT NICKEL INC.
(DNI:TSX-Ven, DG7:FSE) is pleased to announce that it has commenced an extensive sampling and metallurgical testwork program to establish optimum recovery parameters for the recovery of metals from its Alberta polymetallic black shale Properties.
This work will expand on preliminary historic testwork which demonstrated that metals can be recovered from the shales. The historic work reported recoveries of 97% Ni, 100% Zn, 33% V, from simple leaching tests, and successfully leached gold by conventional cyanidation. The historic work also demonstrated that base metals and gold can be collected in gravity concentrates.
As previously announced, DUMONT’s 2,536 square kilometer Alberta land position overlies large tonnages of polymetallic black shales which are mineralized with Mo, Ni, U, V, Zn, Cu, Co, Ag and Gold, described in greater detail in
DUMONT’s Technical Report for the Properties (available from SEDAR and from www.dumontnickel.com).
The current work program will initially rely on samples from previously archived third-party drill core footages from the Buckton and Asphalt Potential Mineral Deposits, and will focus on the Buckton Potential Mineral Deposit which comprises 1.2-1.3 billion short tons extending over 26 square kilometers and which is open in three directions. Intentions are to augment the available samples with additional material to be collected via trenching during the current field season, from strategic localities based on historic work and based on other work recently completed by
DUMONT.
DUMONT also announces that third-party independent review of its NI-43-101 Technical Report for its Alberta properties has been completed, and that a confirmatory opinion letter corroborating the report has been filed to SEDAR as an addendum to the Technical Report which was filed to SEDAR in November, 2008.
Neither the TSX Venture Exchange nor its Regulation Services Provider (as that term is defined in the policies of the TSX Venture Exchange) accepts responsibility for the adequacy or accuracy of this release.
