DUMONT DISCOVERS PORPHYRY TARGET AT KIEWIT WEST, UTAH

DUMONT NICKEL INC. (DNI: TSX-Ven) is pleased to announce that the geophysical survey completed over the Kiewit Property to define extensions of the gold Zone beneath limestone cover identified a 1 mile Resistivity anomaly, flanking the Zone. The anomaly is reinforced by several other coincident anomalies, over an approximate 1 mile by 1 mile area, from historic third-party geophysical work, by topographic anomalies, and is further supported by considerable geological evidence since gathered from field verification work.

Overall, the multiple coincident anomalies are suggestive of the presence of extensive alteration and mineralization created by an intrusive stock. The geophysical evidence, taken with geological field evidence, support the presence of a hydrothermal system consistent with a porphyry sulfide model.

The anomalous area is flanked on its west by a series of historic copper, copper-tungsten, and copper-gold-silver mines, and on its east by lead-silver-gold mines, gold-copper mines and by gold-only showings. The anomalous area partly underlies a corridor of exhalatives including andesitic and rhyolitic porphyry tuffs, ashy tuffs, diatreme and other small siliceous plugs collectively demarkating a zone of considerable venting and fluid activity. Other geological features supporting a porphyry model include the presence of hydrothermal cherts, large barite veining and localized doming.

DUMONT is very pleased by these developments and is actively advancing the target toward the drilling stage. Several other localities with similar geological “signature” have since also been identified elsewhere on the Utah Properties. All of these localities merit immediate additional detailed follow-up.

The 7.5 square kilometer geophysical survey was completed during June over the entire Kiewit Project Area to trace extensions of the stockworks gold Zone down-dip and on-strike beneath limestone covering approximately half of the western parts of the Zone. The secondary objective of the survey was to probe for a possible mineralizing feeder system to support better localization of deep drilling targets beneath the Zone. The survey entailed concurrent Gradient Array Resistivity and Spontaneous Potential Gradient surveying over a 30mx100m grid spacing.

The geophysical work was successful in tracing extensions of the better grading gold sections within the stockworks zone and results have enabled targeting of holes for the next stage of planned drilling.
